Job summary

RRD is seeking a hands-on Press Make-Ready Operator in Michigan. You will load materials, adjust feeders based on page size, and deliver components for installation while supporting make-ready activities. The role supports recycling and orderly plate handling.

Shifts rotate between day and overnight schedules. Starting pay ranges from $19.30 to $25.20 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and a performance-based compensation plan.

Qualifications

• Requires basic knowledge of presswork procedures and materials learned on the job.
• Ability to follow instructions to assist in press setup, operation and maintenance.
• Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, stackers and hydraulic feed mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Ensure paper or raw materials are loaded to supply a constant flow while the equipment runs.
• Make adjustments to equipment, such as feeder mechanisms, based on paper size.
• Deliver equipment components like plates or spray heads for installation.
• Recycle old or discarded plates.
• Provide basic assistance to make-ready the equipment for operation.
• Assist with retrieving, hanging, and recycling plates and other make-ready tasks.

Job Description

• Ensure paper or raw materials (inks, glues, etc.) are loaded into feeders, hoppers, bins, etc. to supply a constant flow of materials while the equipment is running
• Make adjustments to equipment such as feeder mechanism based on the size of the paper
• Deliver equipment components such as plates or spray heads to the equipment for installation
• Recycle old/discarded plates
• Provide basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment for operation
• Assist with retrieving plates, hanging plates and recylcling/storing plates and other tasks associated with make-ready of the plates

Additional Information

• 1st shift hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m.) on a rotating schedule.
• 2nd shift hours are (8p.m.-8a.m.) on a rotating schedule.

RRD's current salary range for this role is $19.30 to $25.20/hour. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
