Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a press operator to load materials, adjust feeders, and prepare equipment for operation on rotating 1st/2nd shifts in our Livonia, MI facility. You will handle plates, assist with make-ready, and help keep the press running smoothly while following safety and quality standards.

Compensation ranges from $19.30 to $25.20 per hour, with potential bonuses or incentives and a comprehensive benefits package. This on-site role offers steady hours with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of presswork procedures and materials.
• Ability to follow instructions to assist in press set up, operation and maintenance.
• Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, stackers, and hydraulic feed mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Load paper or raw materials into feeders to supply a constant flow while the equipment is running.

• Deliver components such as plates or spray heads for installation.
• Recycle old/discarded plates.
• Provide basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment.

• Ensure paper or raw materials (inks, glues, etc.) are loaded into feeders, hoppers, bins, etc. to supply a constant flow of materials while the equipment is running
• Make adjustments to equipment such as feeder mechanism based on the size of the paper
• Deliver equipment components such as plates or spray heads to the equipment for installation
• Recycle old/discarded plates
• Provide basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment for operation
• Assist with retrieving plates, hanging plates and recylcling/storing plates and other tasks associated with make-ready of the plates

• Ability to follow instructions to assist in press set up, operation and maintenance
• Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, stackers, and hydraulic feed mechanisms

Additional Information

• 1st shift hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m.) on a rotating schedule.
• 2nd shift hours are (8p.m.-8a.m.) on a rotating schedule.

RRD's current salary range for this role is $19.30 to $25.20/hour. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
