Pitney Bowes in Houston, TX is hiring for a Direct Hire Full Time Presort Associate 1. The role involves preparing mail, reviewing postage, and ensuring barcode quality on a fast-moving line. First shift with opportunities to train and grow within Presort Services.

Qualified candidates will be dependable, physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, and able to work overtime, including weekends or holidays. Prior Pitney Bowes experience as a Warehouse Mail Sorter is a plus.

• Must have current work experience at Pitney Bowes as a Warehouse Mail Sorter.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outgoing permit and metered mail by reviewing date, postage, and barcodes.
• Communicate errors and bad barcodes found in mail or packages.
• Troubleshoot and remove mail piece jams from machine.
• Monitor the quality of mail or packages prior to processing and before dispatch.
• Understand USPS labels and matching bin numbers on machines.
• Follow Quality Management System practices to assure output quality.
• Understand USPS labeling and preparation requirements for stacking and sorting mail.
• Ensure sorter equipment and related gear are running properly.
• Assist with inbound and outbound processing of mail or packages.
• Be aware of acceptance times and truck departure windows.
• Ensure mail or packages meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Promote a clean work area to prevent injuries.
