Job summary

MAILROOM SYSTEMS INC. is seeking an OCR sweeper to assist the operator with reviewing date, postage and barcodes on outgoing mail, ensuring readiness for production and meeting deadlines. Overtime may be required to meet customer mailing deadlines.

Key duties include reviewing mail quality, reporting errors to prevent rework, organizing postage rejects, clearing jams, and completing end-of-run tasks while promoting a safe, clean warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 0–6 months in mail sorting, manufacturing, or production.
• Other: Able to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment.
• Able to work by themselves with little supervision; practice workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Review outgoing mail for proper date, postage, and quality barcodes before production.
• Communicate errors and bad barcodes to operator or supervisor to prevent rework.
• Troubleshoot and remove mail piece jams from machines without damaging mail or causing double counts.
• Complete end-of-run tasks: proper disposition of extra mail, stocking trays and supplies.
• Maintain a clean work area to prevent injuries and hazards.
• Perform additional duties as required.
