The Opportunity

The Chamber's Board of Directors is searching for a transformational leader to serve as President/CEO. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, marketing, and operations necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the Chamber, operating within an approved strategic plan, bylaws, policy, financial plans, and budget.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who will unite our business community, strengthen partnerships across the parish, and elevate the Chamber as the leading advocate for business success. We want this person to be an exceptional communicator, a collaborative relationship builder, and a visionary executive capable of leading our organization into its next chapter.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Vision

• Grow the Chamber's influence across the region
• Assure that the organization has a long-range strategy that achieves its mission and goals in a consistent and timely manner
• Provide leadership in developing program organization and financial plans with the Board of Directors, staff and membership

Relationship Building & Community Liaison

• Unite business, government, education, nonprofit, and community leaders across Livingston Parish
• Serve as the Chamber's liaison to the broader community
• Establish mutually beneficial relationships with appropriate organizations and maintain open relationships with elected officials
• Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in Livingston Parish
• Lead a relationship-driven organization with member service and sales as top priorities
• Drive membership acquisition and retention across the Chamber's membership base
• Ensure a high level of customer service to members and maintain accurate, updated membership records

Community Visibility & Leadership

• Serve as a visible community leader and the face of the business community
• Participate in community activities and events to contribute a positive image of the Chamber
• Lead event planning and fundraising efforts on behalf of the Chamber

Board Partnership & Operations

• Communicate regularly with the Board of Directors and welcome accountability
• Recommend, guide, and assist the Board in developing long-term strategic goals, yearly budget and an annual program of work
• Responsible for the management, recruitment, employment, and release of Chamber personnel

Who We're Looking For

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in executive-level management
• Bachelor's degree in advertising, business, marketing, public relations, or a related field preferred; appropriate experience may be substituted for a degree
• Strong leadership skills and is proven to be an effective communicator
• Strategic visionary with a track record of driving organizational growth
• Successful in leading a relationship-driven organization
• Experience working with or reporting to a governing board
• A self-starter with a high level of initiative and proven leadership abilities
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
