About Dominican High School

Dominican High School ("Dominican") was established through the vision and support of two neighboring parishes that recognized the need for a Catholic high school on Milwaukee's North Shore. In partnership with the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, the school was founded to provide students with a rigorous, college-preparatory education grounded in the Catholic faith and the Dominican tradition. Dominican welcomed its inaugural freshman class in the fall of 1956 and celebrated its first commencement in 1960.

Rankings and Awards

Dominican is ranked the #1 Catholic, Co-Ed High School in Wisconsin by Niche and was awarded Exemplary Recognition from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for Catholic Mission and Identity. Dominican was also awarded the AP School Platinum Honor Roll of Distinction.

About the President position

Dominican is seeking a Catholic, mission-driven leader who is open to promoting the Dominican charism and four pillars. This person will be a visionary, dynamic, and entrepreneurial leader who deeply understands and believes in the value of a faith-based, high-quality, college-preparatory, education for young men and women. The next President will provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of Dominican's mission, academic program and support systems by overseeing the spiritual and personal development of faculty and students as well as the daily operation of the school.

Dominican seeks candidates with experience, skills, and competencies that include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides strategic vision and direction for Dominican, leading and engaging stakeholders in the direction of short-term and long-term goals.
  • Knowledgeable and practicing Catholic with a thorough understanding of the philosophy of Catholic education and Catholic school operations, committed to modeling the values of Catholic educational leadership and embracing the role as a spiritual leader.
  • Demonstrated success in philanthropy and fundraising, with the ability to cultivate donor relationships, secure major gifts, and generate revenue to support the Dominican mission.
  • Works with the Director of Finance and Board Finance Committee to ensure budget preparation, implementation and fiscal stability of the school.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to inspire and engage diverse stakeholders, including administration, faculty, parents, students, community members, foundation partners, alumni, and the Board of Directors.
