Job summary

The client is seeking a seasoned executive physician to serve as President of its multi-specialty medical group and provide strategic, operational, and physician leadership. This role leads a rapidly growing medical group of approximately 175–180 physicians and APPs, with responsibilities to strengthen leadership infrastructure and empower physician governance to enable high-quality care and access.

Job description

The client is seeking a seasoned executive physician to serve as President of its multi-specialty medical group and provide strategic, operational, and physician leadership. This role is intended for an experienced physician executive and will support the continued growth of an integrated physician enterprise while developing both the next generation of physician and administrative leaders. The position may include a limited clinical presence, helping maintain a firsthand connection to the realities of practice.

The President is a core member of The client’s executive leadership team and will lead a rapidly growing medical group of approximately 175–180 physicians and advanced practice providers. The Medical Group has more than doubled in size over the past six years and plays a major role in enabling high-quality care and access across the local community and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include strengthening leadership infrastructure, maturing a physician–administrator dyad model, improving responsiveness and decision-making, and ensuring physicians, advanced practice providers, and staff are empowered to lead effectively.

The ideal candidate is a board-certified MD or DO with at least five years of clinical practice experience and demonstrated senior physician leadership and management experience. Experience partnering with administrative leaders and empowering physician leadership through clear decision rights, accountability, and shared governance is strongly expected, along with a strong understanding of ambulatory and physician enterprise operations, including access, recruitment, productivity, quality, patient experience, physician compensation, and financial performance. The candidate should be or be eligible for state medical licensure, with preferred advanced coursework in administrative medicine/physician leadership and/or a graduate business-focused degree.
