Job summary

The Ramsey Canyon Preserve Steward position supports Ramsey Canyon Preserve operations, ecology monitoring, and volunteer coordination in Arizona. It reports to the Ramsey Canyon Preserve Manager and involves working with nearby agencies and the visiting public.

You will help maintain facilities, assist with ecological restoration, and support education and public programs, including opening/closing procedures and visitor center coverage.

Qualifications

• AS/Technical or vocational degree in a science-related field and 1 year related experience or equivalent.
• Experience with natural systems and ecological land management principles.
• Experience operating and repairing equipment such as tractors, mowers, chainsaws and UTVs.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office, Box, Teams and internet research.
• Ability to obtain youth certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains facilities and related systems.
• Performs ecological monitoring and restoration activities.
• Coordinates stewardship volunteer workdays and training.
• Educates visitors and supports field trips and group visits.
• Completes administrative tasks and timecards.
