Job summary

Preservation Hall in New Orleans is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to drive front-line selling, merchandise revenue, and a memorable guest experience at our iconic venue, a cultural landmark downtown.

You will work a part-time schedule including days, nights, and weekends, on the sales floor and back of house, maintaining retail standards, assisting guests, and processing transactions through Shopify POS with accuracy and a friendly, professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Past experience working in retail or sales preferred.
• Ability to work independently or as a team, and responsibly in a fast-paced environment servicing a diverse guest base.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.

• Maintain sales floor and/or stockroom standards with an eye to detail

PRESERVATION HALL RETAIL ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTION

Working Hours: 10:30am-4:30pm OR 4:00pm-10:00pm Job Type: Part-Time Reports To: Retail & Merchandise Manager Supervises: N/A

Established in 1961, Preservation Hall has become a New Orleans cultural institution, dedicated to preserve , perpetuate , and protect traditional New Orleans-style music. For over 50 years, Preservation Hall has maintained this mission through education/community outreach, worldwide tours, and nightly concerts, 350 nights a year, at their historic venue in the French Quarter. Over 100,000 visitors per year pass through the gates to experience a bit of New Orleans music and history.

Preservation Hall continues to:

• serve as a cultural, educational, and community resource
• honor the legendary artists that play and have played the Preservation Hall
• provide visitors to New Orleans with some of the best music the city has to offer

JOB SUMMARY: The Retail Associate is responsible for carrying out the front-line selling effort, merchandise sales revenue for the organization, creating the ultimate experience for our guests and maintaining retail standards through back of house operations. Retail Associates will drive results through effective communication and a demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.

The Retail Associate will be expected to work a part-time schedule which can include days, nights, and weekends.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit stand, reach, bend and move about the facility as needed
