Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Preservation Field Engineer for a major semiconductor plant project in New Albany, Ohio. You will plan, coordinate, and verify preservation of equipment from receipt through installation, commissioning and turnover, protecting asset condition and reducing startup risk.

Under general supervision, you will manage the preservation scope, apply field engineering judgment, and coordinate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years (or 12-14) of relevant experience in equipment preservation, maintenance, field engineering, or commissioning.
• Ability to interpret technical documents, organize field scope, and coordinate safe execution with multiple work groups.
• Clear written and verbal communication, accurate recordkeeping and practical problem-solving are essential.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into equipment-specific preservation plans, inspection criteria and task frequencies, resolving conflicts through the technical review process.
• Maintain a preservation asset register with equipment tags, locations, condition, custody, requirements and due dates.
• Verify receiving condition and warehouse readiness; coordinate packaging, supports, protective coverings and handling controls.
• Inspect corrosion, moisture ingress, contamination and cleanliness controls; ensure preservation methods suit storage and installation.
• Coordinate recurring maintenance such as lubrication and preservation checks, ensuring proper permits and safety before work.
• Identify preservation deficiencies, overdue tasks and damage; escalate issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Integrate preservation activities with construction and commissioning schedules; forecast resources and interfaces.
• Maintain traceable inspection records and support turnover documentation and quality reviews.
• Document custody transfer and ensure preservation responsibilities remain clear through turnover.
