Job summary

Redeemed Assembly Jesus Christ in Richmond, VA is seeking a passionate Preschool/Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You will create a warm, safe, and engaging classroom where young children grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

The ideal candidate has experience with toddlers and/or preschoolers, knowledge of early childhood development, and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• Experience with toddlers/preschoolers in childcare or education.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
• CDA credential or ECE coursework preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Warm, patient, nurturing demeanor with strong communication.
• Ability to pass Virginia background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum for preschool and toddlers.
• Create a safe, nurturing classroom that supports development.
• Monitor and document children's milestones and progress.
• Communicate with parents about growth and daily activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom per regulations.
• Supervise children during play, meals, and rest times.
• Incorporate social-emotional learning and values daily.

• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for preschool and toddler-aged children
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that supports early childhood development
• Monitor and document children's developmental milestones and progress
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's growth and daily activities
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in compliance with childcare regulations
• Supervise children during play, meals, and rest times
• Incorporate social-emotional learning and values into daily routines

Requirements:

• Experience working with toddlers and/or preschool-aged children in a childcare or educational setting
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
• CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or early childhood education coursework preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for young children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with families and staff
• Ability to pass a background check as required by Virginia childcare regulations
