Job summary

Zucker-Jewish-Academy-of-Las-Vegas is seeking a full-time lead teacher for a three-year-old classroom in Las Vegas, NV. The role centers on implementing a provided curriculum, fostering exploration, and maintaining a safe, warm learning space.

The candidate will collaborate with assistants, communicate with parents through Brightwheel, and follow licensing protocols, while demonstrating English communication, physical caregiving abilities, and knowledge of preschool development; NV ECE

Job description

This is a full-time position as the lead teacher in a three-year-old classroom of a busy preschool.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing a provided curriculum of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage exploration and learning.

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, and monitoring the children's safety at all times, includingfollowing childcare licensing protocols and allergy, health & hygiene protocols.

• Assisting children with feeding, naps, and comforting, and other basic care as needed, in a loving, patient manner.

• Maintaining open communication with parents regarding their child's daily activities, milestones, progress, and any concerns, via our childcare software (Brightwheel). Identifying any special needs or developmental delays, and communicating with parents about any concerns with professionality and confidentiality.

• Collaboration with assistants, other teachers, and staff, as a "team player" and leader who creates a positive environment in the classroom and ensures a cohesive and consistent learning experience for the children.

Requirements include:

• The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English with colleagues and parents

• The physical abilities to care for small children, including lifting, carrying, and assisting them with clothing changes or using the bathroom, as necessary

• A deep understanding of the developmental stages of preschoolers

• A patient, calm, and flexible attitude

• Currently certified to provide early childhood education with the Nevada Department of Education, OR ability to complete the required training before the start of the position

The ideal candidate will have several years of experience working with young children, a positive and collaborative outlook, and a deep sense of responsibility and love for the children in her care.
