Job summary

The Consortium of Jewish Day Schools in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a full-time lead teacher for a three-year-old classroom in a busy preschool setting. You will implement a provided curriculum, maintain a safe and organized classroom, and communicate with families through Brightwheel.

The ideal candidate has several years of experience with young children, a thoughtful, collaborative mindset, and a strong sense of responsibility and warmth toward the children in care.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
• Physically capable of caring for young children including lifting and assisting with clothing changes or bathroom needs.
• Understanding of preschool developmental stages.
• Patient, calm and flexible attitude.
• Certified to provide early childhood education in Nevada or willing to complete required training before start.

Responsibilities

• Implementing a provided curriculum of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage exploration and learning.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, and monitoring the children's safety at all times, including following childcare licensing protocols and allergy, health & hygiene protocols.
• Assisting children with feeding, naps, and comforting, and other basic care as needed, in a loving, patient manner.
• Maintaining open communication with parents regarding their child's daily activities, milestones, progress, and any concerns, via our childcare software (Brightwheel). Identifying any special needs or developmental delays, and communicating with parents about any concerns with professionality and confidentiality.
• Collaboration with assistants, other teachers, and staff, as a "team player" and leader who creates a positive environment in the classroom and ensures a cohesive and consistent learning experience for the children.

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, and monitoring the children's safety at all times, includingfollowing childcare licensing protocols and allergy, health & hygiene protocols.

• Assisting children with feeding, naps, and comforting, and other basic care as needed, in a loving, patient manner.

Identifying any special needs or developmental delays, and communicating with parents about any concerns with professionality and confidentiality.

Requirements include:

• The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English with colleagues and parents

• The physical abilities to care for small children, including lifting, carrying, and assisting them with clothing changes or using the bathroom, as necessary

• A deep understanding of the developmental stages of preschoolers

• A patient, calm, and flexible attitude

• Currently certified to provide early childhood education with the Nevada Department of Education, OR ability to complete the required training before the start of the position
