Job summary

Jenks Public Schools seeks a Teacher Assistant for Little Trojan Academy in Jenks, Oklahoma. You will assist in daily classroom operations, support early childhood learning, and help prepare and implement developmentally appropriate lesson activities.

The role reports to the Site Coordinator and requires a high school diploma or GED, with preschool/childcare experience preferred. Must meet licensing requirements and be able to lift up to 30–40 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in preschool or childcare teaching preferred.
• Must meet all state licensing requirements.
• Early childhood training through credit and/or non-credit classes preferred.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds to shoulder height.
• Ability to bend, stand, kneel, lift and move freely to interact with children and perform duties.
• Satisfy district health and citizenship requirements.
• Alternatives to qualifications may be considered by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist with everyday operations of the program, including setting up before students arrive and cleaning up afterwards.
• Work with students in a manner that supports each child’s growth and development.
• Assist in preparing lesson plans for children aligned with developmentally appropriate practices.
• Implement lesson plans in a developmentally appropriate environment.
• Attend meetings and fulfill staff development requirements.
• Assist in program evaluation.
• Support positive, respectful discipline in line with the Jenks Elementary Handbook.
• Attend licensing-standard workshops and conferences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
