Mile High Early Learning in Denver, CO is seeking a Preschool Teacher for the Head Start program, with a signing bonus and a commitment to high-quality early education. Qualifications

• AA/BA/MA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field is required or
• AA/BA/MA in another field with at least 30 ECE credits or
• Current Teaching License with an endorsement in ECE or SpEd.

Responsibilities

• Lead a preschool classroom of up to 17 children aged 3–5.
• Co-lead the teaching team of two other staff.
• Individualize curriculum to meet children's needs and support social/emotional development.
• Complete developmental assessments and screenings.
• Conduct home visits and parent–teacher conferences.
• Ensure safety and a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with Center Director and staff to implement Head Start standards.

Salary: $24.25 - $27.88 / hour (depending on position and qualifications)

Bonus: Signing bonus eligible, $1000 to $2,000 depending on credentials and employment status.

Mile High Early Learning has openings for Preschool Teachers at our Blossom House, Westwood and Lowry Early Learning center locations in Denver.

Position Description:

Plan, organize and deliver a developmentally appropriate preschool education program based on the individual cognitive, motor, social and emotional needs of children enrolled. Manage the classroom to create a positive, healthy and safe learning environment. Implement the Agency’s early childhood education curriculum. Ensure the implementation and maintenance of Agency policies and procedures, Head Start standards, and State of Colorado child care licensing requirements. Provide direction and leadership to classroom staff. Partner with the Center Director, Head Start Director, Education Compliance Coordinators, and other staff to manage Agency activities. Overtime may be required on evenings or weekends based on Agency needs.

Responsibilities for the Preschool Teacher include:

• Lead a classroom of up to 17 preschoolers ages three to five

• Work closely as a classroom teaching team to individualize the curriculum to meet the children’s needs
• Support children’s social and emotional needs
• Complete developmental assessments and screenings
• Complete home visits (twice per year) and parent teacher conferences
• Work as a team to complete parent/teacher conference and home visits
• Encourage and support family involvement in the classroom
• Create a safe and healthy learning environment
• Supervise the safety of the children in care
• Supervise volunteers and student interns as applicable
• Communicate with coworkers and families in a warm and professional manner

Requirements:

• AA/BA/MA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field OR
• AA/BA/MA in an unrelated field with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE OR a current Teaching License with an endorsement in ECE or SpEd.

Other requirements:

• Demonstrated teaching skills, as displayed by a minimum of 2 years of experience in the classroom
• Demonstrated professionalism and ability to use appropriate communication and management skills including excellent writing ability
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, and model exemplary instructional practices
• Ability to work full time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening meetings
