Job summary

Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido, CA is seeking a full-time Teacher Aide to assist Preschool teachers with planning weekly lessons and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for EFCC Preschool.

You will supervise children, partner with families, maintain a safe, clean classroom, and participate in staff trainings and meetings; background checks and standard certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Commitment to EFCC’s Statement of Faith, Mission, & Values.
• Flexible, self-motivated with a passion for preschool development.
• Complete EMSA First Aid and CPR and keep current.
• Physical with clearance to work in an early childhood classroom.
• TB test, immunizations proof, influenza vaccination or waiver.
• CDSS Mandated Reporter Certification.
• Background check and fingerprinting per CA state law.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of children, families and staff.
• Set up age-appropriate activities indoors and outdoors for development.
• Prepare morning and afternoon snacks.
• Support classroom teachers with curriculum implementation.
• Utilize materials to create a learning environment suited to development.
• Ensure a safe, healthy classroom and maintain cleanliness.
• Provide constant visual supervision of children.
• Cover breaks and planning time for staff.
• Foster discipline through positive rules and practices.
• Maintain friendly relations with staff, volunteers and parents.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings; some evenings/weekends possible.
