Job summary

Chesterbrook Academy seeks a Beginner Teacher to create a warm, nurturing preschool classroom where young learners feel safe and engaged. You will implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, establish routines, and help students build foundational academic, social-emotional, and self-help skills.

You will partner with families to support milestones, including potty training, while collaborating with fellow teachers and school leaders to ensure a positive student experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Child Development Associate credential or 30+ hours in ECE with 6+ hours in ECE-related topics.
• Experience in licensed child care setting.
• Ability to pass state/federal background checks.
• Strong communication with families and children.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Plan arts, crafts, outdoor play, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.
• Supervise classroom activities, meals, and transitions with attentiveness.
• Support potty training and age-appropriate self-help skills.
• Encourage language development, independence, peer interactions, and emotional growth.
• Create classroom resources and maintain an organized learning space.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders for a consistent student experience.
• Communicate with families about classroom activities and student progress.
• Adhere to school policies, licensing, health, and safety standards.
