Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Preschool Teacher to supervise and engage children aged 3-5 years, plan developmentally appropriate activities, and maintain a safe, clean learning environment. You will interact with families, coordinate with staff, and follow licensing and emergency procedures.

The role requires 12 CORE ECE units, a background check, and CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:45am–5:45pm, onsite in Oceanside, CA.

Qualifications

• 12 CORE units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) required.
• AA or BA in Early Childhood Education are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6 months experience working with youth in a preschool setting.
• Criminal record clearance by fingerprinting prior to reporting to work.
• Physical exam and negative TB test within 7 days of hire.
• Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification within 30 days of hire from recognized providers.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping of program space and food preparation.
• Plan and coordinate activities matching children’s developmental needs and interests.
• Record and monitor daily activities of children.
• Communicate with parents effectively and build positive relationships.
• Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times.
• Comply with licensing regulations and maintain cleanliness and health standards.
• Plan, supervise and implement the program in line with YMCA goals and policies.
• Follow emergency procedures to ensure safety.
