Job summary

Little Scholars Academy in Faribault, MN is seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher to create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate classroom. You will design engaging lessons, arrange learning centers, and support children's emotional, social, and cognitive growth.

Applicants should have an AA in Early Childhood Education, at least one year of preschool experience, and CPR/First Aid certification (or within 30 days).

Qualifications

• AA degree in Early Childhood Education is required.
• At least 1 year of preschool experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification or obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; caring attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design a structured, engaging, developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Arrange learning centers to encourage independence, creativity, and hands-on exploration.
• Create defined areas for small group, large group, dramatic play, art, literacy, and quiet time.
• Ensure materials are labeled, accessible, and rotated to support curriculum goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom meeting licensing and health regulations.
• Implement visual schedules and routines to promote smooth transitions.
• Monitor and maintain classroom supplies and learning materials.
• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities.
• Support children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development.
• Create a nurturing, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
• Collaborate with families and staff to support each child’s success.
• Observe and document developmental milestones.
• Uphold MN state childcare licensing standards and center policies.

Salary: $22–$28 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM

Required Qualifications

• Minimum AA Degree in Early Childhood Education (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with preschool‑aged children
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or obtain in 30 days of employment)
• Strong Organizational skills
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A positive, dependable, and caring attitude toward children and team members
