The Glencoe Park District seeks an Assistant Teacher to support Lead Teachers in the Children's Circle Pre-School program. This part-time role involves engaging with children, planning activities, and ensuring their emotional and physical well-being. Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Early Childhood Classroom Coordinator, the Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting Lead Teachers in the full-day Children's Circle Pre-School program.
This is an hourly part-time position, and scheduled Monday-Friday (7:00 AM - 12:30 PM) or (12:30 PM- 6:00 PM). Compensation will be established based on evaluation, experience, and the recommendation of the Early Childhood Director.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge:
Good understanding and working knowledge of DCFS standards and regulations are required. A knowledge of the philosophy of public recreation and the ability to communicate this to others is also required—a proven technical knowledge of the position's content.
Required Skills:
Must be dependable and flexible, with good safety awareness and sound judgment. Workers must be able to understand and follow rules and instructions. Must have the ability to read, write, and organize material.

This is an hourly part-time position, and scheduled Monday-Friday (7:00 AM - 12:30 PM) or (12:30 PM- 6:00 PM).
Due to the nature of park district programming, evening, weekend, and some holiday hours may be expected.
Pay Scale:
This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. The intended starting pay for this position is $18.31 per hour, with a full pay scale ranging from $18.31 to $26.00 per hour.
Final compensation will be determined in good faith based on an evaluation of the candidate's qualifications, experience, and the recommendation of theEarly Childhood Director, or the Deputy Director/Director of Recreation and Facilities.
