Job summary

SENDCAA seeks a Teacher Assistant for Head Start in Fargo, ND. This 9‑month, full‑time role supports classroom learning under a licensed teacher, implementing curricula, supervising children, and assisting with family engagement.

You will help create a positive, developmentally appropriate environment and contribute to reports and observations of each child’s progress. Training and reflective supervision are part of the program.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in an early childhood environment.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate interaction with young children.
• Ability to communicate in a professional and appropriate manner with children, parents, and staff.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals, including clients and co-workers.
• Ability to follow protocols, confidentiality, and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive learning environment and assist with daily activities.
• Assist in implementing the Creative Curriculum for Preschool to fidelity.
• Support teachers with small group activities and read-aloud sessions.
• Help supervise children in classroom and bathroom areas.
• Prepare for nap time and assist with daily lesson plans developed by the teacher.
• Assist with home visits and family conferences as needed.
