Job summary

Cadence Education is hiring a Preschool Teacher Assistant in Virginia. You will support a safe, nurturing classroom, help implement Cadence programs, and assist with children’s developmental needs, including those with IEPs.

The role involves collaboration with staff, communicating with families, and adhering to safety and licensing policies. The position offers hourly pay between $14.16 and $17.16, full-time benefits, 401(k) match, tuition discounts, and opportunities for professional

Qualifications

• Ability to consistently follow safety procedures, including Name‑to‑Face accountability, food allergy processes, bottle‑feeding procedures, and Safe Sleep practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a classroom team.
• Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
• Education preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive and respectful classroom environment with care and dignity for each child.
• Greet children and families daily and build welcoming relationships.
• Assist in recognizing and responding to developmental, behavioral, cultural, and learning needs, following IEPs and behavior plans.
• Support planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and Cadence Signature Programs.
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership using Cadence-approved tools.
• Follow the Cadence Education Safety and Supervision Manual and report incidents as required.
• Assist with documenting and reporting escalated child behaviors per Cadence procedures.
• Adhere to Cadence Education policies and Employee Handbook.
• Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development.
