Job summary

Acquire4Hire LLC is seeking a Preschool Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing classroom for young children. You will assist with daily activities, supervise groups, promote development, and collaborate with families and staff.

An energetic, reliable candidate with strong communication skills and a basic understanding of child development is required. CPR/First Aid within 90 days, background check, and health screening are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience working with groups of children.
• Well developed people skills.
• Ability to communicate well with children, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and emergency personnel.
• High energy.
• An understanding of child development.

Responsibilities

• Assist and work together with supervisors, lead teachers, and co-workers to provide an environment in which children are safe, happy, and comfortable.
• Understand basic and individual needs of children and respond and interact appropriately.
• Overall management and supervision of the group of children to which assigned.
• Carry out discipline in accordance with the center’s policy.
• Implement and supervise a variety of developmentally appropriate activities in accordance with the policies and mission of the center.
• Teach and practice good personal hygiene.
• Serve meals and snacks in accordance with the center’s policies.
• Provide a safe, clean, and orderly environment for children.
• Understand and be able to implement emergency procedures.
• Participate in scheduled staff meetings.
• Collaborate with other staff and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of the program.
• Participate in at least sixteen hours of training on an annual basis that is related to the appropriate age group
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children, families, and co-workers.
• Other duties as assigned

About This Role

The Preschool Assistant Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for young children. This position assists with daily classroom activities, routines, supervision, and care while supporting each child’s social, emotional, physical, and developmental growth. The Assistant Teacher should be dependable, patient, caring, and able to work well as part of a team. Responsibilities also include building positive relationships with children and families and helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
