This is an on-site position with Head Start 0-5 programs in Wichita, KS.

Job Description

Teacher Assistants for Early Childhood and Head Start programs support Lead Teachers in planning and implementing learning experiences that promote the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of children in a safe and healthy environment. They foster family involvement and support the development of relationships between children and their families.

• Utilize appropriate language, interactions, and positive discipline.
• Model positive behavior.
• Assist in instructing and supervising children during classroom activities.
• Support the implementation of age-appropriate activities aligned with Head Start standards and the creative curriculum.
• Implement family-style eating during meal times.
• Monitor children continuously for safety and report any child abuse or neglect.
• Assist with administering screenings, including creative curriculum, DECA, and DIAL-4.
• Utilize curriculum resources, participate in trainings, and develop age-appropriate lesson plans with the lead teacher.
• Support open communication with parents through conferences and home visits.
• Help resolve parent concerns and inform them about classroom routines, policies, and events.
• Complete necessary paperwork promptly, including attendance, screenings, and incident reports.
• Maintain accurate education folders and portfolios.
• Assist with classroom supplies, inventory, and assessment paperwork.
• Collaborate closely with the EC Manager, Assistant EC Manager, and teaching team.
• Participate in meetings as required.

Requirements include legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. The position requires daily commuting to Wichita, KS. This is a full-time, entry-level role in the education and training industry.
