Job summary

Once Upon a Childcare is seeking a Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team in Fort Collins, CO. You will create age-appropriate lesson plans, build strong relationships with families, and maintain a clean, engaging classroom environment for children and their families.

You will help track progress, communicate with parents, and collaborate with other educators to support child development. A friendly, patient approach and CPR certification or willingness to obtain are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• Level 2 on PDIS Colorado Shines.
• Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses are a plus.
• Excellent understanding of child development and preschool methods.
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
• Excellent communication and instructional skills.
• Ability to act as a mediator between children.
• Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for children three and older.
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a carefully constructed curriculum (e.g., identifying shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc.).
• Track children's progress and report to parents
• Communicate regularly with parents to understand the children's backgrounds and psyches.
• Collaborate with other educators.
• Maintain a clean, tidy classroom in accordance with health and safety standards.

As a teacher, you will create an age-appropriate lesson plan, build relationships with your families, maintain cleanliness throughout your classroom, update parents through our daily reports, and show patience and kindness to children. We are looking for happy, smiling faces to join our one-of-a-kind program and create a fun, engaging environment for our children and families.
