Job summary

Once Upon a Childcare in Fort Collins, CO is seeking experienced Lead Teachers to join our team. You will design creative lesson plans, use storytelling and play to educate children, and foster social development in a nurturing classroom.

You will track progress, communicate with parents, collaborate with fellow educators, and maintain a clean, safe environment that meets health and safety standards. Training and CDA support offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
• Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses and/or a Level 2 or higher in the PDIS credential system.
• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
• Excellent communication and instructional skills.
• Ability to act as a mediator between children.
• Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable.
• Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for the children in your care.
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children.
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
• Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a carefully constructed curriculum (e.g., identifying shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc.).
• Track children's progress and report to parents.
• Communicate regularly with parents to understand the children's backgrounds.
• Collaborate with other educators.
• Maintain a clean, tidy classroom in accordance with health and safety standards.

Benefits:

• All Employees will accrue Personal Time and PTO hours that do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
• Sick Pay will be accrued up to 48 hours, applied to each employee's policy, and paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
