POSITION SUMMARY

Opportunities available at multiple locations, including Hyannis, Cotuit, Harwich, Falmouth, and North Falmouth. Under the direction of the HS-EHS Early Education Center Director, you will ensure preschool children have a solid foundation for life. Responsibilities include encouraging social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Head Start children, attending to their safety and welfare, promoting family engagement, and meeting Head Start Performance Standards along with local, state, and organizational policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help prepare classroom materials to support lesson plans and create learning centers as needed
• Set an emotional tone that is responsive to children, parents, and teachers
• Perform daily housekeeping, cleaning, and keep the room organized
• Educate and support parents as necessary
• Work with Lead Teacher and specialists to address children’s special needs
• Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum
• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans
• Approach issues professionally and work cooperatively with colleagues
• Attend staff meetings and engage in ongoing staff development

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 6 months to 1 year of experience working with children (preferred)
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to pass a background check through EEC
• Passion for working with children
• Interest in becoming a certified teacher
