Essential Functions:

1. Manage classroom ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures.
2. Create a welcoming environment for children, parents, and visitors.
3. Maintain attractive and current classroom displays and a Parent Board.
4. Develop and implement age-appropriate, engaging lesson plans aligned with weekly themes and curriculum.
5. Supervise children during activities and use positive discipline techniques.
6. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the classroom environment.
7. Complete all required paperwork accurately.
8. Support and guide assistant teachers.
9. Communicate effectively with parents and address concerns promptly.
10. Identify and resolve classroom and school issues collaboratively.

Qualifications

Physical Demands: The role requires frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Education/Experience: Minimum of 90 clock hours in Child Development and Curriculum Planning, with at least 1 year of experience in a licensed preschool classroom. Equivalent options include 1 year of college (30 semester hours) or a combination of experience and college hours. Additionally, 9 clock hours of training in communication with staff, parents, and the public are required. Preferred qualifications include an AA or BA in early childhood education or a related field, along with the above requirements. MD State Credential Level 5.
