Dedicated School Staffing is partnering with the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West to recruit reliable Substitute Teachers for Washington Local Schools Preschool classrooms in Toledo, OH. This on-call, part-time position supports students with diverse needs, following lesson plans and ensuring continuity of learning when regular teachers are absent.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's degree, a valid substitute license, and a commitment to safety and inclusivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Valid substitute teaching license or higher teaching license.
• Clean criminal background checks.
• Ability to follow established lesson plans and adapt instruction when necessary.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff.
• Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction based on the teacher's lesson plans, IEP goals, and classroom routines
• Support students with a range of disabilities, including learning, emotional, behavioral, physical, and developmental needs
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior support strategies as outlined in student plans
• Maintain a structured, positive, and respectful classroom environment
• Assist students with academic tasks, communication needs, mobility, or personal care (depending on the assignment)
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, aides, and support staff to ensure consistent student support
• Monitor student progress and behavior, documenting relevant information for the returning teacher
• Use effective classroom management strategies to promote engagement and minimize disruptions
• Communicate professionally with staff and administrators regarding student needs or concerns
