Stratford School in San Jose, part of Spring Education Group, is seeking a Preschool Substitute Teacher for an on-call role. You will step in for absent teachers, maintain routines, and support learning activities with young children.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Step into the classroom when a teacher is absent, maintaining routines and supporting activities.
• Communicate daily with parents and guardians while collaborating with co-teachers.
• Assist children during meals, rest periods, and personal care as needed.
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Perform other related classroom duties and school support tasks.

Preschool Substitute Teachers have the fun opportunity to enjoy working with a wide variety of students and implementing an array of teaching methods and techniques. Your ability to connect with young learners and execute lesson plans will help ensure the classroom runs smoothly on any day as necessary.

• Step into the classroom when a teacher is absent, maintaining the established daily routines, supporting planned learning activities, and providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children feel supported and cared for.
• Communicate daily with parents and guardians while collaborating closely with co-teachers and school staff
• Assist children during meals, snacks, rest periods, and routine personal care (including toileting and diaper changing as needed)
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and compliant with all safety regulations and licensing guidelines
• Perform other related classroom duties and school support tasks as assigned

What We Offer

Pay range: $25.00-27.00

This is an on-call position

What We Are Looking For

12 completed ECE semester units (or 18 quarter units), including coursework in:

• Child Growth and Development
• Child, Family, and Community
• Program/Curriculum
• OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior teaching experience with young students is preferred
