Stratford School, part of Spring Education Group, located in Altadena, CA, is seeking a Preschool Substitute Teacher to cover for absent staff and support learning activities in a caring, safe environment.

Qualified candidates will have 12 ECE units (or 18 quarter units) with coursework in early childhood development or a Bachelor’s in Child Development, plus strong communication and a patient, compassionate approach to working with young children.

Qualificações

• 12 completed ECE semester units (or 18 quarter units) with coursework in Child Growth and Development, Child, Family, and Community, and Program/Curriculum.
• OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development.
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior teaching experience with young students is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Step into the classroom when a teacher is absent, maintaining routines and a safe, nurturing environment.
• Communicate daily with parents and guardians while collaborating with co-teachers and staff.
• Assist children during meals, snacks, rest periods, and diaper changing as needed.
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations and licensing guidelines.
• Perform other related classroom duties and school support tasks as assigned.

About the Role

Preschool Substitute Teachers have the fun opportunity to enjoy working with a wide variety of students and implementing an array of teaching methods and techniques. Your ability to connect with young learners and execute lesson plans will help ensure the classroom runs smoothly on any day as necessary.

• Step into the classroom when a teacher is absent, maintaining the established daily routines, supporting planned learning activities, and providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children feel supported and cared for.
• Communicate daily with parents and guardians while collaborating closely with co-teachers and school staff
• Assist children during meals, snacks, rest periods, and routine personal care (including toileting and diaper changing as needed)
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and compliant with all safety regulations and licensing guidelines
• Perform other related classroom duties and school support tasks as assigned
