Job summary

Penns Grove - Carneys Point Regional SD is seeking a Preschool Teacher with Special Education endorsement to support students with disabilities. The role emphasizes implementing IEPs, collaboration with general education staff, and ongoing progress documentation to guide instruction and outcomes.

The candidate will work toward college- and career-readiness within a supportive classroom, operate within approved curricula, and engage families and community resources to ensure student growth.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching children with exceptional needs and related certifications.
• Knowledge of current special education assessment and program requirements.
• Excellent integrity, strong character, and initiative.
• Understanding of child growth, disabilities, and evidence-based instructional strategies.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency with technology and electronic teaching tools.

Responsibilities

• Implement the educational program and services as outlined in the student’s IEP.
• Collaborate with regular education teachers when students are mainstreamed.
• Maintain progress records and assist in IEP reviews and goal tracking.
• Communicate with parents and other staff about student progress and needs.
• Create a positive classroom climate and manage instruction effectively.
• Plan and adjust learning experiences and assist with support services as needed.
