Job summary

Yuma School District ONE is seeking a Paraprofessional - ESS Moderate/Severe for the Preschool program. You will assist in instructional support, monitor behavior, and help implement IEP plans within a classroom setting. Strong communication with staff and families is essential.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, immunization proof, fingerprint clearance, and CPR/First Aid certification. The position is non-benefited with 7-hour workdays for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required.
• Proof of MMR & Hepatitis B immunization is required.
• Tuberculosis clearance is required.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
• Three professional references are required.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities under supervision to support and reinforce objectives.
• Provide basic health support and immediate first aid as needed.
• Assist with tests, homework, and make-up work for student progress.
• Assist medically fragile students with hygiene and care.
• Attend meetings and trainings to stay informed on procedures and IEP goals.
• Communicate with staff and parents to evaluate progress and implement IEP objectives.
• Document daily student activities and maintain records.
• Monitor student behavior and safety in various school settings.
• Support instruction per IEP plans and behavioral plans.
• Maintain instructional materials and records.
