Job summary

Hackensack Public Schools is seeking an anticipated Preschool Teacher of Students with Disabilities for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is 10-month, full-time and tenure-track, located at Jackson Avenue School (2) and ECDC (1).

Sick, personal and vacation time, plus pension and health benefits, are included. The ideal candidate will hold NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities and NJ Preschool-3 certification, have experience with young children, and demonstrate knowledge of child

Qualifications

• Must have NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities and valid NJ Preschool through Grade 3 certification.
• Experience in teaching and working with children.
• Demonstrate knowledge of child growth, instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.
• Provide evidence of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status and required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Foster a nurturing academic environment in the classroom.
• Implement lesson plans aligned with NJPTLS and Creative Curriculum.
• Develop differentiated instruction that aligns with IEP goals.
• Document and analyze student performance data for progress monitoring.
• Implement behavior modifications for whole class and individual plans.
• Collaborate with administrators, CST and related service providers.
• Utilize technology effectively in daily lessons.
• Assist students with toileting and hygiene practices.
• Support staff to provide optimal student learning opportunities.
