AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School in Washington, DC, seeks a Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to implement IEPs in inclusion, push-in, and pull-out settings under the direction of the Special Education Manager and Principal.

This on-site position emphasizes collaboration with general education teachers, RTI implementation, and IDEA compliance. You will manage case work for students and partner with families to support transitions and ongoing professional responsibilities.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in elementary or early childhood special education with Praxis passing score.
• Master’s degree in early childhood special education or SLP preferred.
• Two or more years of professional teaching in early childhood special education.
• Ability to deliver virtual instruction using video conferencing software.
• Willingness to travel to multiple AppleTree locations as needed.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; team collaboration.
• Passing score on PK-3 Praxis within 60 days of hire.

Aufgaben

• Support development and achievement of young and diverse learners.
• Implement RTI and research-based interventions.
• Develop annual IEPs in collaboration with the team.
• Document progress using the SEDS data system and adhere to IDEA requirements.
• Collaborate with related service providers to support student progress toward IEP goals.
• Communicate with families about goals, progress, and transitions.
• Maintain compliance with federal and local regulations.

Kenntnisse

Bachelor's degree in special education

Two+ years teaching experience
