Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist to support PreK students in a Lake County school setting. The role focuses on comprehensive assessments, individualized treatment plans, and collaboration with educators and families.

Ideal candidates hold a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, Florida licensure, and CCC-SLP credentials (or CF). Private practice/outpatient experience is a plus; familiarity with insurance billing is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • FL State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • CCC-SLP certification from ASHA unless a CF.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.
  • Dedication to culturally competent and client-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.
