Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking a Preschool Speech Therapist (SLP) for Esther Ashkenas ELC on the Upper West Side. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. and expects delivery of speech-language services in line with each student's IEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Speech Therapy.
• Must be a New York State Licensed Speech Therapist.
• Experience with students with autism required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver speech-language pathology services as per student’s IEP and participate in service scheduling.
• Provide assistance and consultation to Teachers of Speech and Language Disabilities and/or Clinical Fellow Therapists at regularly scheduled meetings and as needed.
• Provide mandated speech related services as per student’s IEP.
• Maintain session notes which reflect activity during individual and group therapy sessions.
• Assess students annually and provide periodic progress reports and annual reports which include descriptions of student’s performance, areas of need and recommendations.
• Complete IEP for students based on assessment which addresses individual needs in areas of communication and update IEP as needed.
• Assist in acquisition of assistive technology for students in need of such technology.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings and represent student needs in area of communication and feeding.
