Job summary

Wonder Academy in Indian Trail, NC seeks a responsible CDL Bus Driver to safely transport preschool to preteen students to school, field trips, and summer programs. You will ensure safety, timeliness, and comfort while maintaining a positive demeanor around children, parents, and staff.

The role offers part- or full-time hours with flexible scheduling, competitive pay based on experience, and benefits including health insurance and a 401K.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements (P and S).
• Must obtain NC Child Care Criminal Qualifying Letter.
• TB screening/test and health assessment required.
• Clean driving record; pass background check and drug screening.
• Experience driving school buses or passenger vehicles preferred.
• Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to child safety.
• Ability to calmly address behavioral issues.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus or designated vehicle per regulations.
• Transport children to/from school, activities, and summer programs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections for safety and efficiency.
• Maintain a safe bus environment; ensure seat belts and seating.
• Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and admins.
• Adapt to a flexible schedule including summer trips.
• Follow routes and schedules; adjust as needed.
• Complete logs, reports, and paperwork promptly.
