Job summary

Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool in Minnesota is seeking a part‑time Preschool Instructor to support Proactive Intervention Program in a 3–5 year old classroom. You will implement planned activities, monitor behavior, and collaborate with families and ECFE staff.

Your role includes leading PIP strategies, documenting notes, and participating in team meetings while maintaining strong communication with parents and guardians throughout the school year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or closely related field.
• Ability to work with children ages 3-5 and their parents.
• Lesson planning and classroom management skills.

• Ability to work with children with disabilities in an inclusive classroom.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.

• Participate in staff meetings and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Positions may include evening hours depending on student needs and class.

Job description

Preschool Instructor for Proactive Intervention Program (PIP)

Part‑Time 173 days/8 hours, 4 per day and 4 hours, 1 day a week (days and hours vary)

Overview

Anoka‑Hennepin Schools Preschool is an early childhood program for children ages three to kindergarten. The program is to prepare children for kindergarten by providing planned learning experiences in a classroom setting with the emphasis on the emerging development of social and academic skills. Preschool Instructors are responsible for child learning and development in alignment with selected objectives. The Preschool program runs September through May with classrooms located throughout the school district.

Duties

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or closely related field.
• Ability to work with children ages 3-5 and their parents.
• Lesson planning and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities in an inclusive classroom.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
• Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
• Must be physically working in the building.

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching license in Early Childhood, Kindergarten or Elementary Education preferred.
• Experience teaching in a high-quality early childhood program preferred.
• Pyramid Model Tier 1, 2, and 3 trainings completed preferred.
• Handle with Care training certification preferred.

Rate of Pay

$35.78/hour and up, DOQ.
