Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking an Early Learning Teacher to provide direction in the classroom and implement the program curriculum for a quality experience for children and families. You will nurture children, supervise activities, and maintain the classroom while building relationships with parents in a supportive YMCA environment.

The role emphasizes observing each child, following established guidelines, and participating in staff trainings.

Qualifications

• Meets licensing educational and experience qualifications for Early Learning Teacher.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Certifications: Pediatric CPR & First Aid & Health Card.
• Child Abuse Prevention Training.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

Early Learning Teacher

Essesntial Functions

• Implements curriculum within established guidelines.
• Nutures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and families.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards.
• Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
• Cultivates positive relationships, maintains effective communication with parents.
• Maintains classroom, equipment and supplies.
• Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings & staff training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
