Job summary

Somerset Public Schools/North Elementary School in Somerset, MA seeks a Preschool Lunch Aide to support mealtime and supervision of preschoolers during play and activities. Responsibilities include promoting proper dining habits, assisting with utensils, and maintaining a calm classroom environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (preferred), strong communication skills, and the ability to work well with both adults and students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with adults and students.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Reports to: Principal.
• Terms of Employment 182 Days per year.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Helps students develop and observe proper dining habits, both in terms of etiquette and nutrition.
• Informs any attending teacher at once of any serious infraction of disciplinary rules by students.
• Supervises students at playtime and maintains a harmonious atmosphere on the playground.
• Organizes group games and activities.
• Takes part in in-service training programs.
• Directs the movement of groups to and from the playground.
