Job summary

Bond Health Staffing in Staten Island is seeking a paraprofessional to provide 1:1 support for a preschool child in a school setting. The role includes shadowing in class, accompanying to therapy sessions, and responding to medical emergencies as they arise.

Ideal candidates have a GED or high school diploma and 3-6 months of paraprofessional experience, with training in Epi-Pen and mandated reporter certification. Fingerprinting and a small administrative fee may be required.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma.
• 3-6 months experience as a paraprofessional.
• Trained in use of Epi-Pen.
• Willing and able to work with medically fragile children in a school environment.
• Must be fingerprinted by the Board of Education. Fees for fingerprinting to be paid by candidate.
• Mandated Reporter certified.
• SCR Form requires a $25 money order paid by the candidate.
• Recent Quantiferon TB test.
• Pre-employment Physical Exam.
• Titer tests for: MMR, TDAP, Varicella.

Responsibilities

• Shadow child in classroom and attend to child while there.
• Accompany to therapy sessions (physical, occupational and speech).
• Respond to medical emergencies that may arise.
• Perform paraprofessional responsibilities as needed.
• Other responsibilities as required by supervisor.
