Job summary

Hire Up Recruiting's client, a premier preschool in St Louis Park, MN, seeks an experienced Preschool Assistant Director to join the leadership team. You will oversee daily operations, support the Co-Director, and help maintain smooth day-to-day activities while nurturing a warm, educational environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and Minnesota licensing eligibility, plus at least two years of licensed childcare leadership.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of continuous administrative leadership in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
• Bachelor’s degree required (preferred in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration, or related field).
• Must meet Minnesota state licensing director qualifications (education and experience).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and pass background check eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily administrative and operational functions of the school
• Collaborate with the Co-Director and leadership team to maintain smooth day-to-day operations
• Assist in increasing enrollment by providing tours and supporting marketing to families
• Demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude and supportive workplace culture
• Build relationships with parents, teachers, and staff through excellent communication
• Plan and coordinate events for families and teachers, including school events and parent engagement
• Assist with open houses and school events, including occasional weekend participation
• Ensure administrative tasks, documentation, and school records are organized
• Step in to support classrooms when needed to maintain ratios
