Ymca Of Central Maryland, Inc. seeks a Preschool Lead Teacher for Sherman Early Childhood Center in Baltimore, MD.

You will plan, manage and supervise an early childhood classroom, developing lesson plans, schedules, routines and transitions while upholding state standards and the Y’s approach to early childhood education. You will ensure health, welfare, and safety of children and foster development across social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative domains, preparing young learners for

Qualifications

Enthusiasm for young children, patience, good humor, good judgment and a good spirit.
Ability to clearly communicate and listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates.
At least 1 year of early childhood experience.
A high school degree or GED.
Your 90 hour child care certification.

Responsibilities

Plan, manage and supervise early childhood classroom structure, including lesson plans, schedules, routines and transitions.
The teacher will lead the classroom and support associates, while ensuring adherence to state standards & regulations as well as to the Y’s philosophy and approach to early childhood education.
Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the children enrolled in our program.
Create an environment which fosters the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child.
Contribute to the Y and to the overall community we serve by helping littlest participants prepare for school and life.
