Job summary

The Learning Experience – Lake Linganore in MD is opening a new preschool and seeks a Preschool Lead Teacher to help build our founding team. You will establish classroom culture, mentor fellow educators, and design meaningful learning experiences for preschoolers preparing for kindergarten.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, competitive pay ($17–$19/hour), and opportunities for professional growth as the school launches.

Qualifications

• Must be Preschool Teacher qualified under Maryland Office of Child Care regulations.
• Experience leading a preschool classroom preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a preschool classroom focused on kindergarten readiness and whole-child development.
• Implement developmentally appropriate lessons using the LEAP Curriculum.
• Foster language, literacy, math, science, and social-emotional growth through hands-on learning.
• Create a structured, safe, and welcoming classroom environment for every child to thrive.
• Mentor and collaborate with Assistant Teachers to maintain high-quality instruction.
• Build strong relationships with families through daily communication and updates.
• Maintain compliance with Maryland OCC licensing requirements and health and safety standards.

This is a unique opportunity to establish classroom culture, mentor fellow educators, and create meaningful learning experiences for preschoolers preparing for kindergarten.

• Implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons using The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum

• Create a structured, safe, and welcoming classroom environment where every child can thrive
• Mentor and collaborate with Assistant Teachers to maintain a consistent, high-quality classroom experience
• Build strong relationships with families through daily communication and developmental updates
• Maintain compliance with Maryland Office of Child Care (OCC) licensing requirements and health and safety standards

Qualifications

• Must be Preschool Teacher qualified under Maryland Office of Child Care regulations
• Previous experience leading a preschool classroom preferred
