Job summary

The YMCA of South Palm Beach County seeks a Preschool Teacher to implement the Creative Curriculum with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, providing a nurturing, well-supervised environment for preschool children under the Preschool Director.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree or a CDA, plus a 40-hour HRS course and 24 in-service hours per year of continuing education. Knowledge of GOLD trainings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or a CDA.
• 40-hour HRS course is required to be started within 3 months of employment.
• 24 in-service hours per year of continuing education courses must be completed.
• Knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD and GOLD trainings.

Responsibilities

• Notify Child Development Director in the event of absence.
• Attend organized staff meetings.
• Turn in lesson plans every Friday for the week ahead.
• Provide a parent newsletter every month.
• Participate in keeping the classroom clean and orderly.
• Supervise and interact with children while on the playground.
• Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Preschool director.
