Job Description

Preschool Lead Teacher Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Degree in one of the following fields:
• Early Childhood Education
• Special Education
• Child Development with a focus on Birth to 2nd grade
• Nursery
• Child Psychology

• NYS certification in:
• Nursery to 6th grade
• Birth to 2nd grade
• Students with Disabilities – birth to 2nd grade

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must meet all state preschool lead teacher requirements
• Previous experience as a preschool lead teacher required
• Demonstrated classroom management skills
• High flexibility and willingness to work within business hours

Responsibilities:

• Work as part of the teaching team to create a positive learning environment aligned with Cadence Education's philosophy
• Document and communicate children's milestones to parents
• Collaborate with colleagues to implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curricula
• Observe and respect children's interests, intervene for safety, and enhance play with language, toys, and activities
• Model and encourage socially appropriate behaviors
• Plan daily schedules with a balance of activities, including indoor/outdoor and quiet/active options
