Job summary

Central Kentucky Community Action Council Inc. is seeking a Head Start Instructional Assistant to support preschool learning under the Head Start Teacher. You will help deliver instructional experiences aimed at social, emotional, physical, and educational development.

You will engage children with varied activities, plan using their interests, assist with assessments and documentation, and ensure a safe, inclusive classroom environment for all learners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CDA credential or enrollment with anticipated completion within 2 years.
• Background check/pre-employment screenings required.
• Ability to work with children from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Support early childhood development through instructional activities.
• Assist in planning classroom activities using each child’s interests.
• Promote a safe and healthy classroom environment while maintaining teacher-child ratios.
• Assist in the assessment of children.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
• Foster a climate conducive to learning and positive staff relationships.
• Complete required annual training and professional development hours.
• Collaborate with the Head Start Teacher and staff.
