Job summary

Mason Public Schools is seeking a Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Associate Teacher to plan and implement engaging activities for school-aged children in a safe, nurturing environment.

You will assist the lead teacher, supervise 4-year-olds, and ensure confidentiality and safety. The position runs Monday-Thursday 8:15am-4:15pm and Friday 8:15am-2:15pm, with hourly compensation of $16.21.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or CDA credential or 120 Hour approval from the Michigan Department of Education.
• Positive attitude and rapport with students and staff.
• Dependable, neat, and organized; follow directions and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties assigned by the lead teacher.
• Work with 4-year-old children.
• Maintain confidentiality of school information.
• Interact with children and families in a positive, caring manner.
• Assist with inputting child assessments.
• Follow childcare license rules and participate in all classroom activities.

Some responsibilities include preparing activity schedules, organizing recreational and enrichment activities, and ensuring the safety of all children.

Qualifications Required:

• Associate’s degree (AA) in early childhood educationorchild development or the equivalent;ora valid classroom CDA credential (This needs to be birth to five or preschool specialization);oran existing 120 Hour approval from the Michigan Department of Education.
• Positive attitude and rapport with students and staff
• Must be dependable, neat, and organized
• Ability to follow directions and take initiative with activities

QualificationsDesired:

• Experience working with at-risk students and families
• Current 1staid certification
• Current CPR certification

Job Description:

• Perform duties assigned by the lead teacher
• Responsible for working with 4 year old children
• Responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all school-related information
• Interact with children and families in a positive, caring, and concerned manner
• Responsible for helping input child assessment
• Must follow all childcare license rules and regulations
• Willingness and physically capable of walking distances and participating in all field trips, playground, and classroom activities
  

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking
• The position requires occasional lifting of supplies
• Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations

Schedule:8:15am-4:15pm (Monday-Thursday) 8:15 am-2:15pm (Friday)
