Job description

Floater/After School Lead

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:30 am-5:30 pm
(Must be flexible, schedule may change based on the school's needs.)

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the Afterschool program.
2. Strong classroom management skills are a must.
3. Work as a substitute on an as-needed basis in various classrooms for infants/toddlers to preschool-aged children.
4. Manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
5. Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
6. Follow all school policies and procedures of the school and the State of NJ Dept. of Children and Families Department of Licensing.
7. Follow all curriculum guidelines per Sayreville Public School’s policies.
8. Maintain professional development to ensure continuous quality improvement.
9. Develop positive relationships with students, fellow staff members, and parents.
10. Ability to work one-on-one with students who need additional support using activities provided with patience and calm.
11. A love of working with children is a must.
12. Patience, caring, and kindness are required traits for Peace Rose staff.
13. Able to lift a child approximately 40 lbs several times a day if needed.
14. Physical ability to sit on the floor with children when needed.
15. Must be upbeat and an energetic team player with a positive attitude.

Skills:

1. Must have classroom management skills.
2. Must have experience working in a preschool classroom.
3. Must have a HS Diploma and some higher education in a related field (associate's degree or higher).
